EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Andrew is Partner in BDO’s Corporate Investment Department responsible for the investment and management of The BDO Development Capital Fund and The Davy EII Tax Relief Funds. Andrew partners with and supports companies to assist them achieve their growth plans and has advised companies at board level on issues including funding, acquisitions, growth strategies, international expansion, business planning and board governance. Andrew currently holds a Directorship with Lifes2good Holdings Limited.

 

SERVICES & SPECIALISM

Andrew is Co-Founder, Investment Director & Investment Committee Member of Development Capital, the Manager of the BDO Development Capital Fund.

The BDO Development Capital Fund is a €75 million Fund aimed at investing development and growth capital in established, mid-sized and profitable Irish companies to support and accelerate their export growth plans.

The Fund supports high calibre, ambitious, determined and motivated management teams by providing not only the funding to achieve their growth, but also actively supporting management teams post investment to assist them exploit and maximise their growth opportunities. 

This support is provided via our experienced Investment Directors, our Funding Partners and our panel of industry experts. Our Funding Partners include Enterprise Ireland, Bank of Ireland, CRH plc, Glanbia plc and Glen Dimplex, have committed not only Funding but their expertise of successfully internationalising businesses.

Our panel of industry experts include Denis Brosnan, Dr. Jim Mountjoy, Helen Ryan, Dr. Noel Kelly, and Alan Crosbie also provide support to assist our investee companies achieve their growth plans.

Andrew is also Director of BES Management DAC, a joint venture company between BDO and Davy which is Ireland’s longest running BES/EII Fund Manager and Manager of the Davy BES/EIIS Funds, having invested over €140m in established and expanding companies operating in the Food & Agriculture, manufacturing, engineering, ICT and renewable energy sectors.

Through this work with the Fund’s investee companies, Andrew has developed a wealth of sectoral experience across a range of Irish industries with a particular expertise advising companies in scaling and international growth within the Food & Agriculture, ICT and Manufacturing sectors.

Andrew is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and has a BA in Accounting & Finance from Dublin City University.
