Andrew Bourg

Andrew is Partner in BDO’s Corporate Investment & Business Advisory department. He is responsible for the investment and management of Development Capital Fund I and II, two €75 million SME growth capital funds targeting high growth SME’s. Andrew partners with and supports SME’s to assist them achieve their growth plans and has advised companies at board level on issues including funding, acquisitions, growth strategies, international expansion, business planning and board governance.

Andrew is Co-Founder and Partner of Development Capital, the Manager of Development Capital Funds I and II.

Development Capital Fund I and II are two €75 million Funds aimed at investing development and growth capital in established, mid-sized and profitable Irish companies to support and accelerate their export growth plans.

Both Funds support high calibre, ambitious, determined and motivated management teams by providing not only the funding to achieve their growth, but also actively supporting management teams post investment to assist them exploit and maximise their growth opportunities.

Through this work with the fund’s investee companies, Andrew has developed a wealth 0f sectoral experience across a range of industries with a particular expertise advising SMEs to internationalise on both an organic and acquisitive basis.

Andrew is also Director of BES Management DAC, a joint venture company between BDO and Davy which is Ireland’s longest running BES/EII Fund Manager and Manager of the Davy BES/EIIS Funds.

Andrew is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and has a BA in Accounting & Finance from Dublin City University. Andrew is also co-author of “Business Innovation & Growth – Tax Incentives and Sources of Funding”.
