BDO Ireland appoints seven new partners

Nationwide expansion of services sees staff numbers increase by 20% as 60 new employees join Dublin and Limerick offices
Additional 15 new jobs to be created with the launch of a dedicated Risk and Advisory Service
Leading Audit, Tax and Business Advisory firm BDO Ireland has today announced significant expansion plans by appointing seven new partners. A total of 60 new staff will also join the business in Dublin and Limerick.
The seven partners will lead teams within the Corporate Recovery & Restructuring, Corporate Finance, Consulting, Audit, Taxation and Risk Advisory areas. This will add a wealth of experience to BDO’s offering with six of these partners joining the firm from other practices.
BDO today also announced that it will be expanding its Rescue & Recovery and its Corporate Finance offerings with two of the most respected practitioners in Ireland, Brian McEnery and Con Quigley joining as partners and further enhancing the nationwide team. Brian and Con bring with them extensive national experience to add to BDO’s existing team of expert partners – Jim Hamilton and David O’Connor in Corporate Recovery & Restructuring and Katharine Byrne in Corporate Finance. Quigley has built a significant reputation specifically in his work within large corporate finance advisory projects and independent/statutory investigations and McEnery brings to the partnership over 15 years experience in all areas of Rescue and Recovery work right across Ireland and specialist advisory work particularly in the area of healthcare.
In addition, 15 new positions at BDO will be created over the coming 18 months with the launch of a dedicated Risk and Advisory service. This division will be headed up by Partner Brían Gartlan. Brían joins BDO with over 18 years experience advising some of Ireland’s leading companies on risk issues, IT advisory and internal audit.
In a further development, Evin McLoughlin has been appointed as Partner in the consultancy division of BDO Ireland, bringing with him over a decade of experience in the education, healthcare and telecoms sectors.
Finally, BDO today appointed Liam Hession (Audit), Ken Kilmartin (Audit) and Pat Sheehan (Tax) as partners. They will be based in the Michael Street, Limerick office and between them they have over 40 years’ experience advising the business community in Munster.

Today’s expansion announcement brings the total number of BDO’s partners in Ireland to 33 and a total staff number of over 320.
