BDO Ireland acted as lead financial advisor to the shareholders of Thomond Asset Management on its acquisition by global insurance intermediary, Howden. The transaction, which remains subject to Central Bank of Ireland approval, marks Howden’s first expansion into the financial advisory sector in Limerick City.

Thomond Asset Management is a leading Limerick-based financial advisory firm specialising in wealth management, pensions, and estate planning. Howden, a rapidly growing global insurance and reinsurance broking group, acquired the business as part of its continued strategic expansion in Ireland.

The acquisition provides Howden with an established foothold in the Limerick market while advancing its broader strategy of building a national financial advisory platform.
