Exchequer returns to June 2026 were published on 3 July, with strong Income Tax and Corporation Tax receipts contributing to an overall surplus for the first half of the year of €700 million.
Total tax receipts amounted to €50 billion in the first 6 months of the year, a 4.8% increase on the same period last year. Income Tax receipts in June were ahead of the previous year by 2.2% of €100 million, and cumulatively 6.7% (or €1.2bn) higher the first half of 2025. Meanwhile, Corporation Tax receipts for the month amounted to €7.5 billion, a 1.3% increase on the same month last year, and cumulatively 4.7% ahead of the first half of 2025.
While 30 June 2026 was the deadline for the first Pillar Two returns, unfortunately we will have to wait another couple of weeks to find out the Irish Exchequer impact of the first Pillar Two filings as we understand these are to be included in the Exchequer receipts for July.
