Brian McEnery appointed Managing Partner of BDO
Brian will begin his tenure as Managing Partner of BDO in Ireland on March 1st, 2023
February 21st, 2023: BDO, leading accounting, tax, consulting, and advisory firm, is delighted to announce the appointment of Brian McEnery as Managing Partner. He succeeds Michael Costello following a successful nine-year term and will begin his tenure on March 1st, 2023.
This announcement comes after BDO in Ireland last week moved into their new Dublin HQ at Miesian Plaza on Lower Baggot Street. The firm is investing over €5m to facilitate the move and creating 100 new jobs over the next twelve months.
A Limerick native, Brian McEnery joined BDO in Ireland in 1995 and qualified as an ACCA while working in Corporate Finance at the BDO Limerick office. In 2012 Brian re-joined the firm as a partner, and since then, has been instrumental in developing the healthcare, corporate restructuring, and turnaround practices. In 2018, he became BDO’s Head of Advisory Services and its International Liaison Partner.
Throughout his career, Brian has been heavily involved in the accounting profession and the wider business has held many leadership positions. These include the roles of: Worldwide President of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chair of HIQA, Board Member & Chair of the Audit Committee of NAMA, Board member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), and also represents ACCA on the Members Assembly of Accountancy Europe.
Michael Costello, who is stepping down as Managing Partner at the end of February 2023, will remain with BDO as part of the senior leadership team.
