BDO’s Ciara Hanrahan promoted to Partner

Dublin, 02 June 2026 – BDO Ireland has announced the promotion of Ciara Hanrahan to Partner,  building on her experience as a Director in the Risk and Advisory Services team with a focus on Financial Services. The appointment further strengthens the firm’s specialised expertise in the Financial Services sector.

Ciara has nearly 20 years of experience in Financial Services, Regulatory and Risk Management practice. Prior to joining BDO in 2022, Ciara worked for a leading professional services firm, specialising in risk and regulatory management. In addition, Ciara spent a decade working directly within the Financial Services industry, holding senior positions in banking, credit servicing and the credit union sector. Throughout her career, Ciara has led high-profile regulatory engagements. Her expertise includes Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) authorisations, process design and implementation, governance frameworks, and regulatory interpretation. Her experience spans a wide range of sectors, including:

  • Banking & Credit Unions
  • Insurance & Reinsurance
  • Credit Servicing & Retail Credit Firms
  • Payment Institutions & E-Money Firms

Ciara understands the ever-changing regulatory landscape and the risks that Irish-based organisations face, and how to address them. Her track record of expertise positions her to deliver actionable recommendations that add value to organisations and the regulatory environment in which they operate.

Ciara is a member of the Compliance Institute and holds an honours degree in Business Management from Technological University Dublin and a Certificate in Compliance from the IOB.
