BDO Ireland signs up to Women in Finance Charter

The firm boasts a 53% female workforce and reports a -9.4% gender pay gap

Dublin, 16 June 2026 - BDO Ireland, one of the country's leading audit, tax, advisory, and consulting firms, has officially announced its integration into the Women in Finance Charter. The signing marks a significant milestone in the firm's ongoing commitment to fostering gender balance, inclusivity, and equal opportunity within the Irish financial services sector.

The firm boasts a 53% female workforce and reports a -9.4% gender pay gap in favour of women.

To formally mark this partnership, Minister of State Robert Troy TD will today participate in a lunch event with Angela Fleming, Partner and Lead of the Financial Services Tax team at BDO Ireland, to discuss the Women in Finance Charter and the important role it plays in supporting greater participation and progression of women at all levels of the Financial Services sector.

The Women in Finance Charter is a national initiative that challenges financial organisations to commit to measurable, actionable targets that support the progression of women into senior management and executive roles. By signing the Charter, BDO Ireland pledges to implement robust internal strategies designed to bridge the gender gap and cultivate a more representative leadership pipeline.

Speaking at the event, Minister of State Robert Troy commented:

Achieving true gender balance in leadership is not just a matter of fairness; it is an economic necessity. Companies with diverse leadership teams are proven to be more innovative, resilient, and successful. I welcome BDO Ireland’s commitment to the Women in Finance Charter and look forward to discussing how we can continue to drive meaningful positive cultural change across the wider business community.

At BDO, we believe that an inclusive environment where talent thrives regardless of gender is fundamental to our success and the success of our clients. Currently, 53% of our workforce are female and our current gender pay gap stands at -9.4%. This negative gender pay gap is a notable achievement within professional services and is material proof of our commitment to promoting gender diversity at all levels of the organisation.

Signing the Women in Finance Charter further reinforces our dedication to removing barriers and actively championing women into leadership positions within financial services. We are honoured to welcome Minister Troy to mark this important step forward for our firm.

The event brought together key stakeholders to discuss the future in Irish finance and the collaborative steps required from both government and the private sector to sustain long-term progress.
