BDO UK & Ireland adopts Fieldguide platform to offer clients AI-enabled engagement delivery

Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has today announced that it will deploy Fieldguide, the leading agentic AI platform for audit and advisory, to enhance the service it offers to clients.

In the UK & Ireland, BDO will embed the Fieldguide platform across its Consulting, Risk and Outsourcing practice. AI agents will be used to support advisory and assurance engagements, providing clients with better quality assurance, advice and insights.

BDO will work closely with Fieldguide to develop solutions which integrate AI agents into project planning and day-to-day service delivery, supporting time-intensive and administrative tasks across the engagement lifecycle. This will allow BDO teams to spend more time with clients on value-add tasks where analysis and human judgement will be key to enhancing client relationships and outcomes.

The firm’s implementation of the Fieldguide platform will transform the client experience, providing new opportunities to test concepts quickly and create rapid feedback loops to drive faster improvement.

BDO's clients will also be able to work collaboratively with engagement teams via the platform, benefitting from secure document sharing functionality and greater visibility over project delivery throughout the engagement.

The strategic adoption of the Fieldguide platform builds on our existing investments in AI innovation, which are designed to deliver tangible benefits to our clients.

Through this initiative we're confident that we can enhance quality, consistency and professional capacity through the use of human-centric AI. This is an exciting development and one which blends human expertise and technology to deliver a seamless service that supports our clients' ambitions

BDO's UK & Ireland firm is the latest member of the BDO network to adopt Fieldguide, following the recently announced cross-border relationship between Fieldguide and firms within the wider BDO Global network, along with BDO Australia.

Trust is built engagement by engagement, and the firms leading this shift are the ones bringing their clients into the work, not just providing results.

BDO's continued adoption of Fieldguide across its network reflects a shared conviction: agentic AI belongs in the hands of practitioners, applied with the governance and judgment the profession demands.

The Fieldguide platform, which is the first audit and advisory platform to achieve AIUC-1 certification and also holds ISO 42001 certification, will be used in line with BDO's AI principles to ensure that AI is used safely, responsibly and ethically.
