David Savage

David is a Senior Manager in BDO Customs and International Trade Services department. David joined BDO from the Irish Civil Service where he worked in the Customs and Excise section of the State Laboratory. There he provided technical and scientific support to Revenue across a wide range of Customs and Excise issues.

SERVICES & SPECIALISM

David’s main area of expertise is in the area of Tariff Classification, Origin, Trade Wars and Brexit Preparation. He has supported Irish and International clients in the Agri-Food and chemicals sectors.

David has previously provided representation on behalf of Ireland at the following international committees:

• European Commission’s Customs Code Committee (Agri-Chem Sector).
• European Commission’s Economic Tariff Questions Group – that presides over the EU’s autonomous tariff suspensions scheme
• European Commission Textile Labelling Committee.
• World Customs Organisation Scientific Sub Committee
