Richard Warren-Tangney is a Partner in Financial Services at BDO and an accomplished advisor, auditor, advocate, and mentor. 

The development of young professionals within the financial services industry has been a passion of Richard’s in both his home country, South Africa and now in Ireland. Leveraging his visionary perspective and ability to inform, Richard has helped many young professionals advance their careers as a mentor and training officer. 

In both his personal and business circles, Richard advocates for the empowerment of the LGBTQIA+ community and he continues to drive awareness of the understanding of specific mental health challenges within the queer community. Through his, and his husband’s personal charity they “provide a brighter future for those that really need it”.

His commitment to providing excellent advice to his clients has enabled him to pursue his work across a breadth of services, including fintech, crypto, payments, retail, commercial, business and investment banking sectors.

Influenced by his interest in technology, Richard led the re-implementation of audit management tools during his time as the Chief Audit Executive at Sasfin Group, a Johannesburg-based financial services group. He also initiated the introduction of robotic auditing in the Human Capital and Group Finance areas.
