Stewart Dunne

Stewart is a Partner at BDO with more than 30 years’ experience across audit, financial reporting and business advisory. During more than 20 years as a Partner, he has held a number of senior leadership positions within the firm, including Head of Audit, Head of Clients & Markets and Chair of Quality & Risk Committee.

In early 2026, Stewart moved from audit into a firm-wide strategic growth role, focused on supporting BDO’s growth agenda following the merger of BDO Ireland and BDO UK. His work includes developing new service lines, integrating senior lateral hires and strengthening client engagement.

A key focus of Stewart’s current role is the development of BDO’s Aviation Advisory offering, bringing together an experienced team of industry specialists to support clients across strategic, technical and transaction advisory; lease and portfolio management; aviation finance and back-office solutions; and risk, governance and systems advisory.
Stewart is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and holds a Certificate in Sustainability Strategy, Risk and Reporting from Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Services & Specialism

Throughout his career, Stewart has worked with some of BDO’s largest clients across a range of sectors, including real estate and construction, food processing, hospitality and distribution, with significant experience supporting growing businesses operating across multiple jurisdictions.

He has advised business owners at important stages of growth and change, including expanding into new services or markets, seeking private equity investment, exploring acquisitions or carve-outs, planning for leadership succession and working towards key strategic milestones.

Today, Stewart brings this experience to his strategic growth role and to the continued development of BDO’s Aviation Advisory services, helping connect clients with the expertise and solutions they need as their businesses evolve.

Community involvement

Stewart is a board member of FamiliBase, a not-for-profit community organisation delivering programmes for vulnerable children, young people and families in disadvantaged and marginalised communities in Dublin.
