Colin brings more than 30 years’ experience in audit and professional services, serving 23 consecutive years as an Audit Partner prior to joining BDO. During this time, he has previously served as Head of Audit and Head of Financial Services Audit at another professional services firm, with overall responsibility for the oversight of complex commercial and public interest entity (PIE) audits across banking, insurance, asset management and other regulated sectors. He is also a Member of Chartered Accountants Ireland (FCA).
Moreover, he has played a central role in firm leadership through long-standing participation on executive and governance committees, including responsibility for audit quality, remuneration governance and practice management. His sector experience spans a wide range of commercial and financial services clients including construction, manufacturing, retail and hospitality, professional services, banking, insurance, regulated fintech, asset management and aviation.

Colin’s appointment represents a significant reinforcement of our audit leadership at a time when quality, governance and regulatory confidence have never been more important. He brings a rare depth of experience, alongside a proven track record in public interest entity audit, risk management and practice leadership. His career has been defined by rigour, independence and an unwavering commitment to audit quality, all of which align closely with BDO’s values. As regulatory expectations continue to rise and the business environment grows more complex, Colin’s expertise will be an important asset to our clients and to the continued strength of our audit practice.
I am very pleased to be joining BDO at an exciting time for the firm. The audit profession is evolving rapidly, particularly within financial services and regulated sectors. BDO’s strong audit culture, focus on quality and collaborative approach across advisory disciplines provides an excellent platform to support clients as they face growing regulatory, governance and assurance challenges.
