BDO appoints Marc Aboud as Sustainability Reporting and Assurance Partner

Dublin, 19 January 2026 – BDO Ireland has announced the appointment of Marc Aboud as Sustainability Reporting and Assurance Partner within its Sustainability practice. Marc’s appointment further strengthens the firm’s capability to support clients in meeting growing regulatory, reporting and assurance demands across ESG and sustainability.

Marc is a strategic risk leader with more than 15 years’ experience across assurance, risk advisory and consulting, with a strong track record of working with executive teams in multinational and domestic organisations. He brings deep expertise across risk, regulatory, control and sustainability-related engagements, supporting organisations operating in highly regulated and complex environments.

He joins BDO Ireland from a Big Four firm, where he worked across risk advisory, assurance and consulting functions in Ireland and completed a secondment in the United States. He has extensive experience supporting clients on ESG strategy and scenario analysis, ESG materiality assessments, sustainability reporting and disclosure requirements, ESG assurance and regulatory gap analysis and sustainable finance, including green bonds. His client portfolio spans financial services, consumer, energy and resources, and technology and media, working with organisations ranging from large PLCs to private equity-backed businesses.

Marc is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) and holds a Certificate in Sustainability and Climate Change (SCR) from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). He has lectured for the Institute of Bankers and Chartered Accountants Ireland and has contributed to multiple media outlets on issues relating to risk, control and sustainability.
